The Keto Diet by Scott Gooding – Book Review

24 February 2018 by brisbanista 2 Comments

keto diet book cover

The Keto Diet is the next big thing taking over paleo diets. Scott Gooding has written a practical guide to following the diet with over one hundred recipes and practical tips.

A keto diet means that most of your calories come from fats, some proteins and very few carbohydrates.

The benefits of ketosis are:

  • Encourages fat loss
  • Improves cognitive function and mood
  • Improves insulin sensitivity
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Promote neuron regeneration
  • Protects neuron health

Scott discusses common issues like reducing inflammation, keto flu, exercise, MCT oil and staying on track. There’s a chapter on the problems with being a sugar burner and another on health hacks.

Sugar is in fact regarded as seven or eight times more addictive than cocaine.

The second part of the book is devoted to his 60-day keto diet protocol. There are meal plans with lots of recipes which are gluten-free, refined sugar free and soy free. Be tempted by recipes like coconut and pumpkin laksa, pork belly and braised cabbage, beef cheeks in Chinese five spice, salmon poke bowl, and roasted bone marrow with chimichurri.

Changing to a keto diet might lead to improved brain function, more energy and less brain fog.

The Keto Diet is full of practical advice on how to kick start your new healthy lifestyle.

Available as a paperback and ebook.

The Keto Diet is available from Dymocks
