The Ultimate South East Queensland Bucket List

After attending a kikki-k Happiness workshop I was inspired to create my Ultimate South East Queensland Bucket List. Here is my list of all the things I’d like to accomplish while I am still alive. I’d love your feedback.

  1. Admire the view from the Wheel of Brisbane
  2. Attempt one of the many Brisbane food challenges
  3. Attend a cooking class
  4. Attend a dawn service at the ANZAC Square War Memorial
  5. Attend Blues of Broachbeach
  6. Attend Cooley Rocks On
  7. Attend one of the multi-cultural festivals
  8. Attend the Caloundra Music Festival
  9. Attend the Felton Food Festival
  10. Attend the Noosa Jazz Festival and the Noosa Food and Wine Festival
  11. Be inspired by some of the amazing art on display at QAGOMA
  12. Browse the Eumundi Markets and then eat at one of the people watching cafes at Noosa
  13. Buy some fresh fruit and vegetables at the Jan Power markets
  14. Buy something from the Queen Victoria Markets
  15. Buy something handmade at a BrisStyle Indie Markets
  16. Canoe down the Noosa Everglades and have a barbeque at Harry’s Hut
  17. Catch the City Cat from either end and guess who owns all the riverfront properties
  18. Climb all of the Glasshouse Mountains
  19. Climb along the Skywalk through Tamborine Rainforest
  20. Climb the iconic Story Bridge with Story Bridge Adventure Climb
  21. Cuddle a koala at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
  22. Cycle along the boardwalks in a loop around the city
  23. Dress up in costume and attend Comic Con
  24. Drink a rum at the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery
  25. Eat a steak with the works at The Breakfast Creek Hotel
  26. Eat an ice cream and dagwood dog at the Brisbane Ekka
  27. Eat fish and chips on Bribie Island
  28. Eat yum cha in China Town or Sunnybank
  29. Enjoy a dinner and show at Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant, Gold Coast
  30. Enjoy a long weekend exploring Fraser Island and hire a four-wheel drive
  31. Enjoy an Asian feast at Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle
  32. Enjoy looking at the old brick phones at the Telstra Museum in Clayfield
  33. Enter a short film in the West End Film Festival
  34. Explore the city with via geocaching
  35. Feed wild dolphins at Tangalooma Island Resort
  36. Get your nerd on at the Sciencentre
  37. Go barefoot bowling and enjoy a ten-dollar meal afterwards
  38. Go bird watching with a Birds Queensland flyer
  39. Go for a bushwalk in Lamington National Park
  40. Go glamping at Alure, Stanthorpe
  41. Go horse riding along an ocean beach
  42. Go kayaking up the Brisbane River with Riverlife
  43. Go on a backstage tour of QPAC
  44. Go on a Bridge Climb
  45. Go on a ghost tour at Bogga Road Gaol
  46. Go on a morning kayak tour with Australian Kayaking Adventures
  47. Go on a scenic flight in an old fashioned plane, like a Cessna, tiger moth or warbird
  48. Go on an indigenous-led bush tucker tour
  49. Go on humpback whale watching cruise and take some beach shots
  50. Go sand tobogganing on Moreton Island
  51. Go to a live game of the State of Origin dressed up in the appropriate colours
  52. Go to Australia Zoo and buy something khaki
  53. Go to the drive in at Yatala movies
  54. Go to the Eat Street Markets and work out your ideal meal from all the food trucks.
  55. Hand feed a wild dolphin at Tangalooma
  56. Have a dip at the Spring Hill Baths
  57. Have a picnic at New Farm Park but do get there early so you have a good spot
  58. Have a romantic picnic with wine at Picnic Point, Toowoomba
  59. Have a slice of cake from The Welsh Lady
  60. Hire a ford mustang convertible for the day
  61. Indulge in the Country Pub Crawl by Helicopter
  62. Learn how politics work at Queensland Parliament
  63. Learn how to calm down at The Relaxation Centre
  64. Learn to surf at the Gold Coast
  65. Learn to throw a boomerang
  66. Listen to a live band at the Brisbane Jazz Club
  67. Play all my favourite childhood board games at Club Sosay, Paddington
  68. Pretend to be a tourist and travel on the double decker Explorer red bus
  69. Read a book by a Brisbane author, such as Nick Earls, Benjamin Law or Judith Wright
  70. Ride aboard a real fire truck with Fire4Hire, Surfers Paradise
  71. Sample your favourite wine at Sirromet Winery
  72. See a live show at the Brisbane Powerhouse
  73. See the glow worm caves at Cedar Creek Estate Winery or Springbrook’s Natural Bridge, Tamborine Mountains
  74. See the shipwrecks on Moreton Island
  75. See your favourite band play at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre
  76. Sign up to one of the 5km fun runs
  77. Sleep in a safari tent at Castaways on Moreton Island
  78. Snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef and see the amazing fish
  79. Spend a day on the weekend getting lost in the hidden lanes of Brisbane
  80. Stay the weekend at one of the Spicers health retreats
  81. Take a Brisbane Greeters tour
  82. Take a class at the Brisbane Institute of Art
  83. Take a class at the McGregor Summer or Winter workshops, at the University of South Queensland
  84. Take a glass bottom boat tour over the Great Barrier Reef
  85. Take a hot air balloon at the crack of dawn
  86. Take a photo of all your friends in front of the BRISBANE sign at South Bank
  87. Take a photography class and wander around the city taking photos of all the iconic buildings.
  88. Take a selfie in front of the Big Banana and then have an ice cream banana split with chocolate sauce
  89. Take a tour of the XXXX brewery
  90. Take a tour to the top of the Brisbane City Hall
  91. Take a yoga class on the beach at the crack of dawn
  92. Taste the wine at Sirromet Winery with a picnic lunch on the lawns
  93. Try a puzzle room escape
  94. Try a Segway tour through the Brisbane Botanic Gardens
  95. Visit the Brisbane Opal Museum and Jewellery Shop, Windsor
  96. Visit the Cob and Co Museum in Toowoomba
  97. Visit the Granite Belt Brewery in Stanthorpe
  98. Visit the parkour park and pretend you are a stunt double
  99. Visit the Queensland Police Museum
  100. Visit the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre
  101. Visit the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium and wonder at the stars
  102. Volunteer at the Woodford Folk Festival
  103. Walk along the beach at North Stradbroke Island
  104. Walk the Aboriginal Art Trail at Mt Cootha
  105. Walk through the treetops in Lamington National Park, Queensland
  106. Wander around Roma Street Parklands and stop somewhere for lunch
  107. Wander through Paddington or the Woolloongabba antique shops
  108. Watch a movie at Schonell Theatre and then eat one of the A-Z pizzas next door.
  109. Watch an old movie at an outdoor cinema (take a blanket, pillows and warm jumper)
  110. Watch the Australian Outback Spectacular
  111. Watch the crocodile show at Australia Zoo
  112. Wear a watermelon on your head and watch the cricket at the Gabba
