We’ve visited The Gabba a couple of times to see the Brisbane Lions play live. Here’s our guide to everything you need to know about The Gabba.
The Gabba is the name locals fondly use. Fortunately, it does not have a lame sponsored name. The stadium is located at Vulture Street, Woolloongabba, QLD 4102.
The stadium hosts games by Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Heat, Queensland Bulls, International Cricket, music gigs and more. It has a seating capacity of over 42,000 people.
You can easily catch public transport to the venue. You can get off at the Woolloongabba busway. There is no public parking. Don’t forget that your ticket price may include free public transport to and from the venue within the Queensland Rail Network and the Brisbane bus services.
The Gabba Map
The Gabba map shows buses and trains, taxi ranks, ticket box office, entry gates, PWD set down, First Aid, lift access, rideshare spots, information, water bubblers and the member’s area. The Gabba website has a handy map of the venue: https://www.thegabba.com.au/the-venue/stadium-map.aspx

What to Pack
You might like to dress warmly as it does get rather cold out on the field, especially if it is windy. It’s best to bring only essentials, as there isn’t much room underneath your seat to stash your bag. Some events have bag searching and there is nowhere to cloak your goods. Some people like to bring their own pillow to sit on.
There are plenty of stalls where you can buy official merchandise or souvenirs. It’s best to buy want what you want before going inside.
Social Media photos
You might like to take a photo outside of the stadium. Once you get inside it’s rather crowded, so it’ll be best to take selfies in your seat. You might like to test out your camera’s zoom beforehand if you’d like to take photos of the players on the field.
