Summer Fit by Sally Fitzgibbons has your back covered with a 4-week food and fitness plan which you can use all year round.
Pro-surfer Sally has written her second book packed with over 100 nutritious and delicious recipes. The comprehensive plan includes achievable workouts that can be done anywhere, anytime, plus a collection of Sally’s favourite whole food recipes that will nourish and sustain you.
‘Everywhere I go, the ocean is my constant home. It challenges me, scares me, cleanses me and calms me.”
The first half of the book covers the power of food and eating a rainbow, natural pick-me-ups, and food-prep hacks. I’d like the chapters on the inner champion and all the practical tips.
“Positive habits are like putting a dollar in your savings account. Imagine every day you’re investing one dollar in your happiness, health, your fitness. Watch that build over a year, add compound interest for consistency, and you’re talking about some serious health wealth!”
The middle part of the book contains the 4-week plan. Each week has an overview of the recipes and goal. There are fitness plans for your upper body, lower body and full body containing pyramid sets and bodyweight exercises. You’ll need a box, skipping rope and a mat. They are high-intensity, full-body sessions designed to get you fit, lean and strong. You can do these at home, in a park or on the beach.
“I’ll show you how I eat to nourish my body, the training I do to stay in shape all year round, and how I take care of myself so that I can enjoy everything life has to offer”
The recipes are broken up into meal type: breakfast, lunch, dinner and then snacks and dessert. Be tempted by recipes like pumpkin and rosemary frittatas, protein pancakes, rainbow rice paper rolls, open lamb burgers with coconut sauce, and choc nut banana ice pops.
Summer Fit will kick-start any health and fitness resolutions you made at the beginning of the year.
