The trailer doesn’t do Everything in Between justice. Expecting a melancholy tale, I was pleasantly surprised and absorbed from the opening sequence.
Directed by Nadi Sha and shot on location in Sydney, Everything in Between is a heartfelt tale of finding joy in life’s smallest moments.
Depressed 18-year-old student Jay (Jordan Dulieu) has had enough of life; at the other end of the spectrum is world traveller Liz (Freyja Benjamin) who cannot get enough of it. A sliding doors moment brings this unlikely pair together and Liz’s joie de verve will soon rub off on Jay’s state of mind.
Unfortunately, Liz’s lifestyle is brought to an abrupt halt by a mysterious illness. She has become the air that Jay breaths and he can’t contemplate being without her. Alongside his dysfunctional parents (Martin Crewes and Gigi Edgley), Jay will come to realise what life is really about.
Everything in Between will be screening at select locations nationally from Thursday 20 October, with additional Hoyts’ venues from 27 October. Check your local guides for screening times.
