Encanto is a charming film about finding your own path and talents in a large family.
Inside the beautiful Casa Madrigal, we meet the Madrigals. They live in the Columbian mountains in a place called Encanto.
Each child receives a unique power like super strength, healing powers and shape-shifting. Mirabel feels left out as she doesn’t have a special power yet.
But when the walls start cracking, it’s Mirabel who suspects something is amiss. She’s determined to find out what’s going wrong and why.
It’s great to see a diverse cast with most of the Latin voices are from Colombian-born or Colombian-descent actors. If you’re a fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez writing then look out for the special effects.
Encanto is fun and has a positive message, while the musical elements aren’t annoying.
About Encanto
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz). But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope. “Encanto” features original songs by Emmy®, GRAMMY® and Tony Award® winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”).
