Dumpling Republic offers a wide range of freshly made dumplings, hot dishes like soups, fried rice, stir fry, noodles and salads. The popular and recommended dish is the XLB (Xiao Long Bao) which is soup-filled pork dumplings.
You can watch your dumplings being prepared and later cooked as there is an open kitchen. They promise to make your dumplings with twenty pinches to seal the dough and then cooked for exactly four minutes in a steamer.
We ordered deep fried pork and spinach wontons for entre which quickly disappeared. I enjoyed my chicken wonton noodle soup, with a clear stock, filling noodles and excellent dumplings. My husband demolished the combination seafood laksa packed with prawns, scallops and squids. He remarked that ‘the broth was very good’.
There is an extensive drinks menu, with wine, spirits, cider, beer on tap, blended ice drinks and cocktails. You might find a lunch special for a starter, main and drink.
