Biome is one of my favourite shops in the Brisbane CBD. It’s the place to go for eco-friendly products ranging from gifts, body, beauty and health products, beautiful things for kids and goods for the home and cleaning.

The products stocked in Biome are checked for their claims of organic, cruelty-free, bamboo and biodegradable to ensure they are authentic. Products are also considered based on whether they can be reusable, packaging free and preferably Made in Australia for fewer carbon miles.

The shop is based on the values of vegan, cruelty-free, avoiding toxins and palm oil, and considering human rights, waste and supporting local suppliers.

Biome is the first retailer in Australia to achieve a B Corporation certification (B Corporation is a nonprofit that assesses a company’s governance, environmental and social impact, and certifies businesses on their ability to create value for all stakeholders, not only shareholders). The shop is also endorsed as a palm oil free brand by Palm Oil Investigations Australia. Biome supports the community with donations to schools for waste free lunch and composting programs, in store gift wrapping contributions given to Ipswich Koala Protection Society and supporting wildlife charities and Kiva.
