Maniax Axe Throwing is an enjoyable way to blow off some steam that promises to bring you closer to the Old Norse gods.

Your axe throwing sessions starts off with a short lesson in how to throw an axe and lots of safety instructions.

Axe Throwing Rules

  • Always return the axe to its dedicated hanging spot at the end of the lane
  • Only one person in a lane at a time
  • To remove an axe from the board lever it up and down gently
  • Strictly no running, dancing or fancy stunt moves
  • When the axe misses, it will land safely in the woodchips

How to Throw an Axe

Maniax Axe Throwing recommends two different styles of throwing. Most people preferred the two-handed style, while I preferred the one hand throw. Your technique will match one of the two different axes provided. You’ll want to keep your chest upright and your elbows out.

You’re aiming to allow the axe to go through one rotation to hit the board. Ideally, you’ll be aiming for the bullseye, with each ring equaling different points. Alternatively, you can aim for the two green dots at the top for an advanced challenge.

When you have found the right distance away from the board, then do not move from your sweet spot. The trick is to find the best place to stand.

Younger ages are welcome, but need to supervised by an adult.

Cold drinks including local beers are available. You can order a pizza, but you might prefer to eat afterwards.

Dressing in a flannel or plaid as a lumberjack is optional.
