It’s gnome laughing matter at this bookshop and cafe
Who said books are dead? Little Gnome bookshop and cafe are making sure they stay in the land of the living.
The Little Gnome Bookshop and cafe is a quirky place, with a quirky title and quirky humans in charge oh and perhaps the odd gnome or two hanging around.
Head human Bel and son Jack have paired local Montville coffee, creative milkshakes and chai with books and lots of them. Visit the Little Gnome Bookshop and Cafe and you’ll find dozens of Australian self-published and indie authors from the bayside and all over Australia as well as an eclectic range of popular books.
The family duo took on Little Gnome in 2015 and it’s like they were always part of the fabric of the busy Wynnum community and main street. They exude the passion for their craft of hospitality and literary learning. Customers are glowing in their love for this place and loud with their praise about the family business with its kind humans who care.
Bel and Jack recognised early on that there was a flourishing writing and reading community in Wynnum. They quickly expanded their bookshop and cafe offerings to monthly book club nights, regular workshops in self-publishing, social media classes and meet the author nights.
Their latest workshop offering is Prose and Plonk, which as the name suggests, is a chance to drink wine and craft creative fiction. Famous Australian Authors like Nene Davies, currently launching her fifth book Whitethorne, are regular visitors and literary launchers there.
The amount of love for Little Gnome bookshop and cafe is overflowing in every packed corner and from every one of the customers who offer help, shoulders to cry on and home-cooked meals to help Bel through her recent battle with cancer.
You to can love the Little Gnome and make sure books stay in the land of the living by grabbing a coffee and novel, booking the big table for meetings, launching your indie novel, meeting friends for a chat or beavering away in a back corner taking advantage of the free wifi. Whatever your reason for visiting you will love this little bookshop at Wynnum.
