founder of Toowoomba-based GF Oats, her hat tip to those who sacrificed their lives is her tasty
recipe using gluten-free oats so more people can enjoy this Aussie stalwart.
Approved by Veterans Affairs, GF Oats Anzac Biscuits use Aussie uncontaminated oats and are
the first to hit the market using this ingredient. Profits are paid per pack of Anzac biscuits sold and
will go to Legacy, who support the families of Australian diggers.
Since launching a couple of years ago, Kylie and GF Oats have raised over $20,000 for Legacy
with nearly 30,000 packs sold to date since 2020.
The impact of COVID was a driver for Kylie to keep her business going in the face of supply chain
peril and look at how to move with multiple stock outages and a warehouse full of the newly
launched Anzac biscuits. Signing the partnership with Legacy, a charity supporting veteran’s
families, she was able to support them when they could maintain fundraising efforts amid the
pandemic.
With the special commemorative pack including an ANZAC history quiz, and a sprig of rosemary
inside, Kylie wants to make sure those with intolerances or special dietary requirements don’t miss
out on this traditional Anzac Day treat.
