Date Crate – Review

19 August 2017 by brisbanista Leave a Comment

Date Crate is the Australian based subscription box which promises to strengthen your relationships one date at a time. Each month has a different theme. Date Crate is created by Renae Renfrew and Hala Osman from Cheltenham, Melbourne.

“We are finding many people are purchasing our date boxes for gifts like baby showers, engagement parties, wedding gifts, and, anniversary’s”.

“We put in a lot of effort to make sure the items in the box will help couples create a memorable experience and provide each couple with a fun date night in the comfort of their own home.” Renae Renfrew said.

We received the winter love themed August 2017 box to review, so here are our thoughts.

I was looking forward to spending a night in with my partner and the surprise of opening a box full of goodies with pre-planned ideas.

We received an A3 like big box filled with goodies and including

A double sized welcome flyer with instructions and colour photography.

A Winter Cuddle Kit

A white soft snuggle throw rug and two black mugs with the ingredients to make hot chocolate including the mini marshmallows. Speciality Gourmet popcorn from Popped – rocking horse road (rocky road caramel) – super delicious and great to try a new brand from Melbourne.

3D Deer Head Wooden Puzzle

A craft activity to complete together with two black pens to write on the back. The finished piece can hang on the wall as a reminder of your feelings for each other. The wooden puzzle was reasonably easy to complete together. This comes with a list of ten conversation starters which lead to a good walk down memory lane.

Kiss Me game for adults

A cute luscious peppermint lip balm from Secret Esscents from a local Etsy shop owner. A pack of cards with instructions on different types of kisses (some a little naughty!) You take turns drawing a card from the pack then spend 2-5 minutes taking part in the type of kiss suggested on the card.

Saucy and Romantic Fridge Magnets

These are words or parts of sentences which combine together to create a message for your partner. I would have liked some body part words but we had some fun leaving messages for each other to find in the morning.

There is also a great mix of tunes on Spotify each month to play during your date night.

Date Crate August 2017 Review

date crate subscription box

Our date crate night was enjoyable. We had some laughs and shared some of our happy memories. The night was a little different than our usual watch a video and order takeaway, so I enjoyed the fact it got us thinking a little creatively about what to do next time. I liked trying products from small business owners. It to as good see that minimal and recycled packing was used.

About Date Crate

The Australian based Date Crate is available as a month to month subscription plan, 3 month pre-paid or 6 month pre-paid. Each monthly box contains four to six items based around a theme. Past dates have included Art and Soul, Escape Room and Parisian Nights. The dates are focused on the relationship rather than the bedroom.

Head to the Date Crate website to sign up for next month’s box.

Thank you, Date Crate for allowing us to review the August 2017 subscription box.
