Wish follows Asha and a star to reclaim the town’s wishes. This is a charming, animated musical that celebrates the power of dreams.
A young girl Asha applies to become the King’s apprentice. However, in the interview, she discovers his nefarious motivations.
In the kingdom of Rosas, wishes are ‘kept safe’ by the tyrannical ruler Magnifico.
Asha wonders how she can help her family reclaim their wishes, and a mischievous star arrives to help her.
Together they must stop Magnifico from stealing Star’s magic for his own evil purposes. The King becomes suspicious and wants to know who has betrayed him.
Suddenly the pair need to start recruiting her friends.
This film celebrates 100 years of Disney animation.
The characters are cuteness overloaded. There are lots of catchy upbeat tunes. But ‘The everyone is a star’ harks back to the useless pop positive psychology of the nineties.
Wish is a classic tale of overcoming the baddie. You might like to take the kids to see Wish in cinemas, this school holidays.
Release date: Boxing Day 2023
