With the Ekka show a public holiday in Brisbane, it’s frustrating most places are closed. Here are some ideas on how to enjoy your day off:

- Head to Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan or the coast.
- Netflix and chill
- Head to the cinema to watch one of these recently released films
- Grab a page-turning just published Australian book
