Vignette promises stories of life and wine in 100 bottles. The book is written by sommelier Jane Lopes.
It says the book can be read in three different ways – you can read about the bottles of wine, spirits and beers sequentially, dive into the stories about Jane’s life drinking (vignettes), or ponder over the illustrations and diagrams.
There are cocktail recipes, Nashville playlists, blind-tasting wine flow charts, decoding a German wine label, a new way to look at cheese classification and pairing, crossword puzzle and lots of coloured line drawings.
The books covers wines and their regions, but also rum, scotch, tequila, gin, American and Irish whiskey, beer, port and vodka. Each chapter covers a style of wine, think Champagne, Merlot, California Chardonnay and then covers one or more bottles that exemplify it.
You’ll learn about important styles, grapes, regions and flavours to educate your palate and journey around the world.
Vignette is an ideal introduction to wines or the perfect gift for any wine lover.
