Wine in a can has become a staple at the bottle shop. They are great for one person and perfect for using in a recipe. Wine tinnies are good options for sitting by the pool, and adding to your backpack or camping trip. You don’t need a bottle opener or need to worry about breaking a glass bottle. These wines are also ideal for picnics or BBQs.
Here’s our review of some of the best Australian made ones on the market:
Crafters Union – New Zealand
The Pinor Noir has aromas of nectarine and pear. A pretty can label from Hawke’s Bay. Alcohol 13.5%.
Rose has delicate fruity flavours with notes of watermelon and strawberry. Alcohol 13%.
Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with tropical fruit and juicy acidity, leading to a crisp finish. Alcohol 13%.
Shiraz has a notes of blackberry, spice and plum with oak on the palate. Alcohol 14%.
Sparkling wine spritzers in a number of different flavours:
- white wine lemon and botanicals
- pinot gris with apple and strawberry

Elephant in the Room – South Australia
Chardonnay features peach and melon with a fresh, acidic finish. The can label has a red elephant. Alcohol 13%.
A Pinot Noir with aromas of plum and dark berries. Perfect for drinking paired with meats, pasta or pizza. The can label has a blue elephant. Alcohol 13.5%.
Hootenanny – New Zealand
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in a lime green can with a modern tartan pattern. Look for flavours of lime, citrus and passionfruit and a dry finish. Alcohol 13%.
Innocent Bystander – Victoria
A Moscato bursting with floral and fruity flavours. Think aromas of blackcurrant, honeycomb, fairy floss and Turkish delight and mandarin. A solid sweet white wine from the Yarra Valley. Alcohol 5.5%.
Jacob’s Creek – Victoria
Moscato from the popular Barossa Valley winemaker. A sweet white wine with light sherbet flavours and summer fruit resulting in a well-balanced palate. Alcohol 7.6%.
Le Chat Noir – France
A rose with aromas of strawberries and rose petals. This rose has a soft, dry finish. The can label has a cute black cat. Alcohol 12%.
Mascareri
A lightly sparkling prosecco with scents of apple, pear and melon. Alcohol 10%.
Rose – South Australia
Rose is dry bubbles of rose in a minimalist pink can. It’s a well-balanced rose packed with juicy berry and fresh floral flavours and a clean, crisp finish. Did you know that this was Australia’s first rose in a can? Alcohol 13.5%.
Santaro – Victoria
A classic prosecco from the King Valley. This sparkling white has flavours of pears and baked apples. Alcohol 10.5%.
Squealing Pig
Spritzed Pinot Grigio features fresh citrus, nashi pear and red apple notes. Alcohol 8.5%.
Spritzed Rose is an ideal balance of sweet and crisp flavours. Alcohol 8.5%.
Take it to the Grave – South Australia
A smooth Shiraz with scents of plums and blackberries. Look for the black and white skeleton playing a guitar, while sitting on a wine barrel. Award winning. Alcohol 14%.
