Beauty Food is packed with recipes and remedies for radiant skin, eyes, hair and nails.
The book starts with a short introduction and then a chapter on beauty low down with lots of handy tips and tricks and practical advice. This section covers topics like anti-ageing, hydration, sleep, shopping for cosmetics and skin care (what to avoid and why). Lola discusses her travel tips, yoga and sugar with David Gillespie.
“There’s this awesome word in yoga – santosha – which is all about being cool with the uncool.”
Then the book is divided into sections with recipes and remedies for each body part. There are 50 delicious recipes for drinks, breakfast, main meals and sweets.
Be tempted by recipes like Salmon poke bowl, Mexican chilli beef mole with macadamia quinoa, baked avocado chippies, pretty awesome Paleo Shepard’s pie, prune and chocolate fudge brownie slice, coffee chai, gingerbread smoothie, Paleo red velvet cupcakes, and choc-coconut raw mouse.
Then there are 15 recipes for homemade face and beauty treatments like three masks, youth elixir, body scrubs, body butter and hair treatments, masks and more.
There’s no need for expensive face creams and salon treatments when you nourish your body with the right whole foods and healthy fats. I’m a huge fan of Lola’s books and they are always of a good quality with beautiful illustrations.
Beauty Food is a great whole foods cookbook for getting a healthy glow with practical and trustworthy advice.
Highly recommended.
