Industry Beans has opened a small café on Adelaide Street in the Brisbane city. The décor is minimalist and modern with one long bench and bench stools.
The brothers Steven and Trevor Simmons founded Industry Beans in Melbourne in 2010. They were inspired to roast high-quality specialty coffee. The business has grown to roast coffee and operate cafes in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
If you’re after a hot drink, then you can select from an espresso, batch brew, hot chocolate, chai or tea. There’s a good range of alternative milks including almond, oat and soy.
Depending on your coffee order, you can try the Newstead blend or seasonal blend for milk-based espresso coffees, or try one of the rotating single origins best for espresso and filter coffees. The Newstead blend has notes of blueberry, cacao and hazelnut. The single origins change monthly, with the filter options on rotation.
There are two must-try signature drinks. The Fitzroy Ice is a modern Aussie take on Iced coffee. It’s made with cold brew, Wattleseed, panela and milk. While Bubble coffee is popular as an indulgent afternoon treat. It’s made with cold brew soaked tapioca pearls, a dash of condensed milk, and topped with oat or soy milk,
If you’ve enjoyed your coffee, then you can take home a bag of beans, coffee capsules or cold brew in cans. The cold brew is brewed with Industry Beans and available in still and sparkling cans.
There are some sweet treats if you’re feeling hungry. These range from snickers balls, honeyseed bars, peanut butter brownies, choc chip wattleseed cookies, coconut and cranberry bars and monthly muffins. The almond croissants are fleshly baked from Newstead. These menu items include vegan and gluten-free options.
