How to Celebrate Thanksgiving in Brisbane

Here are some ways to celebrate Thanksgiving for Brisbane residents.

Buy American and Canadian Products

You can buy American and Canadian products in the international aisle at Coles and Woolworths.

Look out for Ezy Mart grocery shops. The convenience shops strive to maintain a multicultural perspective in Australia. They are located throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.

Cook Your Own Thanksgiving Feast

You can save money and cook your own Thanksgiving feast at home.

For entre, you could serve stuffed devilled eggs, salmon on toast with dill and spiced pecans.

You’ll want the main dish to be a turkey or chicken with roast vegetables. Traditionally you might like to serve green beans, mashed potatoes and side dishes with cranberry sauce and gravy.

Some people might cook cornbread or corn muffins. I do enjoy the stuffing my Aunty Glenda makes. But that’s a family recipe, I’m yet to get hold of.

You might like to serve a pecan pie or warm fruit pie with fresh cream for dessert.

Decorate the table with fresh fruit like apples, pears and berries, and mini pumpkins.
