Financial counselling

Financial stress and strain are issues faced by many people. In fact, financial stress can lead to mental health issues, which can then result in monetary stress – a vicious cycle. For a situation where someone may be experiencing financial difficulties, a financial counsellor may be able to provide support and advice. Providing a keen ear, to listen to the problems that individuals face, and connecting them with services and resources that can help can be immensely helpful in addressing community issues.

Rehabilitation counselling

Rehabilitation can be a difficult experience for those that experience injury, social disadvantage, or chronic health issues. For those that require assistance to organize their affairs or access services, a rehabilitation counsellor can provide an accessible avenue to assist the community.

School counselling

School can be a difficult experience for many students. A school counsellor may encounter student issues such as emotional, social, disability, and mental health. A school counsellor faces a gamut of youth problems and has the potential to make a difference in young lives.

Outside of the Box – counselling – adjacent Opportunities

The family unit can be a complex situation, especially when issues such as family health, service accessibility, and child protection are raised. Qualifications in counselling can provide a family support worker with the skills and strategies necessary to assist families and children through these processes. Depending on the situation, this could vary from linking expectant parents to maternal health services, or providing emotional support when a family unit goes through a distressing event.
