Conspiracy of Faith was an amazing experience. The film is based on Danish crime writer Jussi Adler-Olsen novel. A bottle with a hard to read message has washed up onshore. Cold case detectives Carl Morck (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) and Assad (Fares Fares) are tasked with investigating the mystery.
The message was written in blood and is 8 years old. When the detectives discover another two children have gone missing under similar circumstances, they find themselves chasing a religious cult leader. The religious themes are dealt with eloquently and the film leaves you to ponder your own beliefs.
The storyline is original and captivating. It’s dark and violent at times, with the suspenseful train chase a highlight. The acting is solid. I can’t find much to fault in this movie.
Conspiracy of Faith is one of my stand out movies of the year.
