Baby Driver is a must-see fun take on the robber slash car chase genre. The film centres on the young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) who relies on listening to custom made soundtracks to plot his escape route.
He develops a crush on the local waitress (Lily James) and promises her a new life by driving away from it all with no plans. However, his crime boss (Kevin Spacey) wants him to pay off his debts and then some.
The music features heavily and there is a track for all types of taste – but mostly with a good foot-tapping beat.
The script has enough surprises and originality to keep you guessing. The acting is solid and the action is paced brilliantly.
