A Haunting in Venice is based on an Agatha Christie novel. You’ll meet detective Hercule Poirot in a supernatural murder mystery.
It is based upon the novel “Hallowe’en Party” by Agatha Christie and directed by and starring Oscar® winner Kenneth Branagh.
The film is set in an eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve. Hercule Poirot is pretending to be retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city.
When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
There is a number of characters, which makes the storyline a little confusing. It wouldn’t hurt to watch the film again.
It’s a visually stunning film with lots of beautiful shots of Venice and amazing buildings. If you can’t afford to travel to Italy, then just head to your local theatre.
