The Missing Sister by Lucinda Riley is the seventh instalment in the multimillion-copy epic series The Seven Sisters. The books are based on the legends of the Seven Sisters star constellation, also known as Le Sette Sorelle.
The D’Aplièse sisters were adopted as babies. After their beloved father died, six sisters were each handed a clue to their true heritage. The clues took each of them across the world to piece together their origins. Along these pathways, they experience love and loss, but they still have one mystery to solve.
Who and where is the seventh sister?
With only one clue, an image of a star-shaped emerald ring, they travel across the globe. Their mission takes them on a journey that includes New Zealand, Canada, New York, London, France, Switzerland and Ireland.
As they seek answers to the whereabouts of the missing sister, they begin to unravel a story of love, sacrifice and immense courage that began a century ago during a time of conflict and change.
It’s a mammoth task that will bring them all together to finally complete their family circle.
This is a wonderful read that has it all – conflict of beliefs and loyalty, the great divide between the rich and the poor, courage to stand up in the face of discrimination and, most importantly, love that endures.
The characters are beautifully drawn and represent the times in which they lived, making this an educational, as well as most enjoyable, read.
For those who aren’t yet acquainted with the D’Aplièse sisters, this is a beautifully written, intriguing and heartwarming stand-alone novel. It is a highly recommended read.
However, if you have read the previous six novels, then, without a doubt, you will already have this one at the top of your ‘must read’ list for 2021!
