T2 The Breakfast Brunch tea arrives in a fun yellow tin containing 20 tea bags.
The tin has the following blurb:
Start your day with a trip ‘round the world! Have breakfast under the Big Apple, on Orchard Road or on top of the Opera House with a menu of T2 breakfast teas!
My initial thoughts were that I’d enjoy the English and Irish Breakfast teas the most. But I was ready to give them all a taste and mini-review.
T2 The Breakfast Brunch Tea Review:
The Breakfast Brunch tea flavours are:
- Adelaide Breakfast x 2: Adelaide Breakfast tea is a fruity blend with cranberry bits, lemongrass and sweet blackberry leaves. 3 stars
- Brisbane Breakfast x 2: There are hints of tropic mango in the Brisbane Breakfast tea. 3 stars but I think I’m biased.
- Canberra Breakfast x 2: I tried this on coconut milk, but I think it might work better on oat milk. 2 stars
- English Breakfast x 2: One of my favourite flavours from the breakfast tea range. I’d definitely buy this one again. 5 stars.
- Irish Breakfast x 1: Another one of my favourite flavours from the breakfast tea range. I’d definitely buy this one again. 5 stars.
- Melbourne Breakfast x 2: The Melbourne breakfast tea is sweet with vanilla. 2 stars.
- New York Breakfast x 2: A full-bodied black tea that was inspired by New York pancakes with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. 2.5 stars
- New Zealand Breakfast x 1: It’s recommended you drink New Zealand breakfast tea on its own. It has a unique flavour of kiwi fruit with fragrant full-bodied black tea. 2 stars.
- Scots Breakfast x 2: The Scots Breakfast tea works well on oat milk as it contains oats, cinnamon and sweet caramel. It’s a comforting and cosy brew. 3 stars.
- Singapore Breakfast x 2: An intriguing combination of flavoured black and green tea. My husband thought I should drink this one black without milk. It is reminiscent of kaya toast (which I’ve never tasted) and has a strong coconut flavour. It was created as an ode to Singapore’s beloved national breakfast. However, it has an overpowering taste where you can no longer taste the tea, so this one is not for me.1 star.
- Sydney Breakfast x 2: Sydney’s breakfast tea is bright, fresh and bold. Another full-bodied tea with hints of bergamot. 2 stars.
How to brew your breakfast tea
There are instructions on each tea packet with a summary, how to brew (recommended temperature and steeping time), how to serve with milk or without and ingredients. Some tea packets are easier to read than others. If you want to be more sustainable, it’s handy to know you can buy your tea loose leaf to save on packing.
Summary
The T2 The Breakfast Brunch tea was a great way to try a range of different teas from T2 without committing to a whole box, and now I know which are my favourites to buy next time.
