We chatted with Linda Le from The Botanical Lab about their tea brew bar and the tea festival:
Can you tell about The Botanical Lab?
Botanical is a tea and floral boutique, we offer loose leaf teas to iced teas, bubble teas and other traditional teas.
Why did you decide to specialize in tea and flowers?
We fell in love with both since we were young and have found that they go hand in hand.
What are your most popular beverages?
Blue mango milk tea, Rose latte, French Earl Grey, Jasmine Green Tea and Pineapple and Hibiscus Iced Tea.
It’s Instagrammer’s dream to visit your shop, what are some of the most photographic drinks to order?
Rose latte and Matcha ombré Milk Teas
What’s your favourite way to have tea?
I prefer drinking pure loose leaf teas on its own, I prefer not adding anything to it. My favourite way is drinking gong fu style teas and Devonshire teas. Both are enjoyable and relaxing.
What do your tea leaves say?
My Reading has said Botanical Lab will reach to a larger audience and be well-loved by many – which is really sweet. I think as a new business owner, it’s really nice to get some affirmations and I’ll grow to become like my mother! She’s hilarious and driven which I love.
What are some gift ideas you sell?
It ranges from body care, candles, cards, notebooks, teas, crystals and little knock knacks in between.
What are some of the workshops The Botanical Lab has hosted?
Tea Blending, tea tastings, tea meditation and calligraphy. We welcome all creative minds to hold their workshops in store.
Tell us about your new podcast and video series?
We’re hoping to spread the love of tea with other people from different walks of life. Teas are one of the most consumed beverages yet people still lack the knowledge of the leaves, tasting and brewing styles.
Tell us about the upcoming Laneway Tea Festival in Brisbane?
It’s just a day to being the tea community together to celebrate tea. We want to share new tea experiences and knowledge with everyone.
Who or what inspires you?
My family who are hardworking and supportive throughout their lives and being able to face each hardship with poise. My friends, who are all trying to navigate life in our own way whether they’re on top of the game or still figuring things out. My peers in the tea community whom I looked up to for many years; to see the passion of what they do is absolutely inspiring and motivates me to bring tea to a different level.
What’s next for you?
To really combine more traditional teas in our store, we would love to offer gong fu teas and Devonshire teas in-store. To offer two different types of traditional teas would be nice to bring it together. As for our bubble teas, we would love to keep being fun, creative and experimental.
