Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Café promises a menu with Mediterranean-inspired meals and colourful cocktails. Think sourdough pizzas, antipasto platters, fresh seafood and bistro-style mains.
Be tempted by breakfast dishes ranging from chia seed pudding with berries, buttermilk pancakes drizzled with chocolate sauce, crowd-favourite smashed avocado and eggs bene. If you’re hungry then try the shakshuka or a big breakfast packed with chipolata, bacon, mushrooms, roast tomato, hash brown, rustic toast and two eggs cooked your way.
The lunch menu has share and small plates including bruschetta, charcuterie, seasonal heritage vegetable salad, Lebanese spiced chicken skewers and falafel with tabbouleh. If you’re looking for a larger plate then consider crispy battered flat head, chicken schnitzel, Humpty-do barramundi, wagyu rump steak or rocket and basil pesto linguini.
If you’re craving a stone-baked pizza then order a capriccioso, Margherita, vegetarian or Quatro Formaggio. The dinner pizzas include Siciliana, Moroccan chicken and Lamb pide.
The dinner menu has several more items, so you might want to order citrus-cured salmon, glazed pork belly or something larger including Tasmanian salmon, pork ribeye or Moroccan lamb backstrap.

If you want a sweet treat then think about the strawberries and cream Eton mess, dark chocolate fondant with berries and vanilla gelato, trio of gelato, or a local cheese selection.
If you’re keen to try local produce then look out for the buffalo mozzarella from Byron Bay Cheese Co on the pizzas, freshly baked bread from Brasserie Bread and desserts featuring Delizia’s Gelato and Sorbet. The Executive Chef recommends the sustainable Fremantle Octopus.
I enjoyed my classic chicken schnitzel with chips and a seasonal garden salad. I sipped on a coffee made by a barista with Elixir Coffee beans.
There’s a full beverage list featuring Australian wines from Barossa Valley, Margaret River, Clare Valley, and Murray Darling, and boutique beers.
The dining space is filled with light from the generously sized glass windows and features white Hamptons-inspired furniture and a unique hanging roof garden.
Goldfinch has a handy central location in Brisbane’s CBD across from city hall and directly opposite King George Square.
