We both enjoyed the original protein bread mix from The Protein Bread Co.
It’s a low-carb mix which results in a great tasting slice of bread with only 1.3g of carbs. This results in around 96% fewer carbs than regular bread.
The bread contains 15g of protein and is naturally high in fibre. This is achieved by golden flaxmeal, lupin, whey protein, almond meal, coconut flour, kibbled sunflower and pea protein.
The 6 Australian seeds are pepitas, linseeds, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, and black wattle seeds.
The bread is easy to make and you just need to add some water, two eggs and vinegar. After mixing all of the ingredients pour the mixture into a loaf tin. The bread does take an hour to cook.
The bread was developed by brother and sister duo Anna and Luke Hopkins who wanted a protein bread mix with tasted great and meet their dietary needs.
“Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be difficult initially, and people often find eliminating carbs near impossible. When creating The Protein Bread Co, our goal was to create a versatile range that could make low carb eating less overwhelming and more achievable for everyone,” says Luke Hopkins, co-founder of The Protein Bread Co.
It’s good to know that the ingredients comes from Almond meal in Renmark, South Australia, whey protein from Warrambool, Victoria and Flaxmeal from Hamilton in Victoria.
The bread kept well for around 5 days.
The bread is perfect for anyone on a low-carb or gluten-free diet or who needs to lose some weight.
