Joyce May runs Cricut workshops for people interested in finding out about this craft machine and trying some hands-on projects.
A Cricut machine cuts fabric, leather, paper and balsa wood with sharp blades. The machines are sold in Spotlight and Lincraft.
Before class, you’ll need to sign up for a Cricut account and make sure the software or app works on your device.
In class, you’ll be guided through a couple of craft projects. We made a vinyl sticker for a notepad and then added a design to a tote bag with an iron patch (heat-transfer vinyl). The last project was a standard hair bow using a free online SVG pattern with faux leather.

The workshop included everything you need – with a wide range of colours and materials to select from. You’ll hear lots of handy tips from an experienced user, and there is ample opportunity to ask questions.
