The Lab is hosting a spring racing-inspired high tea with delicious sweet and savoury delights.
There’s something about High Tea that makes it always feel like a special occasion. So, I was keen to visit the Treasury Hotel for a late lunch.
The Lab’s high tea menu
The Lab’s high tea menu includes savoury dishes like freshly made dainty gourmet ribbon sandwiches and petite quiches and frittatas. The sweets menu has delicate petite pastries, hat-shaped cookies, rose meringues, chocolate cups, and profiteroles.
I ate two scones, half a dozen finger sandwiches, two frittatas, and ample sweets. We tried different sandwiches including egg and lettuce, cheese and tomato, beef, smoked salmon, cucumber, and chicken with soft cheese. There was plenty of food to share and something to suit everyone.
You can enjoy bottomless Le Maison Du The French handcrafted tea. The tea is available in classic English breakfast, traditional Earl Grey, Darjeeling the ‘Champagne of teas’, and healthy Green Tea. The hot drinks can be served with oat, soy or almond milk. If you’d like a cup of refreshing herbal infusions consider lemon and ginger, peppermint, and chamomile.
Alternatively, you can upgrade to the Chandon high tea.
High tea prices
The standard high tea is AUD$50 per adult and AUD$25 per child (aged 5 to 12 years). You can upgrade to the Chandon high tea which includes a glass of Chandon Garden Spritz on arrival at AUD$70 per person.
The Lab’s high tea is good value for money.
High Tea at The Lab is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
High tea is held on Saturday and Sunday in October between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
