The team at Brisbanista have gotten together to decide our top 5 fruits to try this summer:
1. Durian

2. Lychee
Hands up if you love lychees? They are very hard to grow and find fresh, but lychees are super delicious. I love having this fruit with ice cream when out at a restaurant.
3. Carambola
Carambola is also known as start or 5 corner fruit. This fruit originates from the East Indies and China. The fruit is 8-15cm long and pale green in colour when mature. I’ve read that they are fully ripe when they are yellow to pale orange. Look for a sweet aroma. They taste like a sweet grapefruit and an orange.
4. Native Lime
Native Lime are like jewels of caviar. Beware if you plant one of these indigenous plants in your backyard, as they are spiky. As a fruit, I give them 5 stars for their flavour bursts.
5. Chocolate Pudding Fruit
This unusual fruit has a thin skin. They are round and about the size of a large orange. Yes, they taste a little like chocolate, better than carob, but not as good as chocolate.
Please leave a comment about your favourite fruit, and how you like to eat more fresh fruit?
