The Angry Women’s Choir by Meg Bignell, the acclaimed author of Welcome To Nowhere River, has
produced a heart-warming novel about an extraordinary group of women who are about to discover that
they are all capable of achieving the seemingly impossible provided they’re determined, and angry
enough, to take up the cause.
Freycinet Barnes has a handsome and successful husband and beautiful children. She works hard to
keep them happy, running a well-ordered household and a busy family schedule. But, can she cope
when she discovers all is not what it seems?
Fortunately, she is accidentally thrown into the bighearted embrace of the West Moonah Women’s Choir.
There she discovers music, laughter, friendship and a humming source of anger!
Readily adopted by this diverse collection of unrestrained and infuriated choristers, Frey soon realises
that voices can effect change, act as manna for the soul and take revenge on those who most deserve it.
These angry women unite and their voices join as one to face their demons and fight the system. United,
Frey and the choir sing out their wrath. They breathe it all in and let it out with a savage, driving beat that
will kick the outmoded system square in the balls, and effect change like never before!!
This extremely moving novel takes the reader through a gamut of emotions from anger and grief to
laughter and tears of joy. It is an unputdownable celebration of all women, who we are and what we
could and should be.
The characters are beautifully crafted and unforgettable – a tremendous book to add your reading list.

About Meg Bignell
Meg Bignell was a nurse and a weather presenter on the telly before she surrendered to a persistent
desire to write. Since then she has been writing almost every day – bits and pieces here and there, either
to earn a crust, to get something off her chest or to entertain herself. She has written three short films,
mostly because she wanted to do some acting and no one else would cast her. She sings a bit too,
occasionally writes and performs cabaret, but is mostly very busy being a mother to three and a wife (to
one). She lives with her family on a dairy farm on Tasmania’s East Coast.
