To celebrate the much-anticipated season 2 of the Sex and the City revival ‘And Just Like That’, The Bottle Club are sharing some of their favourite cocktails made popular by the beloved characters in the popular series.

In a show so synonymous with the city of Manhattan, this iconic drink made its fair share of appearances throughout the six seasons. PR socialite Samantha Jones ordered the tipple on several occasions.

The popular drink was created in the 1800s. It is named after the bar it was first developed in. The cocktail remains a firm favourite amongst whiskey drinkers to this day.

Manhattan Recipe

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 60ml of rye whiskey
  • 30ml of sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • Ice
  • Maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Method

  1. Fill a pint glass with ice.
  2. Add rye whiskey, vermouth and bitters, then stir well.
  3. Strain into a chilled glass and add optional garnish.

About The Bottle Club

Founded in 2014 by family-run business Millennium Group, we started life as Wine Mill but with an extensive range of both wines and spirits the name just didn’t fit, so we said goodbye to old branding and were re-born as The Bottle Club in 2018. Made up of a team of industry experts and curious drinkers, we’re on a mission to revive the classics, discover new artisan producers and generally satisfy our fascination with drinks – because you never know what you could be missing!

Our range is hand-selected to feature the best of wines and spirits – but that’s up to you to judge. We strive to provide the drinks we think are worth it, from good old favourites to the latest tipples that tickle our fancy. Find out more at The Bottle Club website.
