The Pride by Tony Park – While Sonja Kurtz is holidaying with her daughter, Emma, at a popular beach-
side destination near Cape Town, Emma is assaulted by an abalone poacher.
This drives ex-mercenary Sonja into battle mode and she takes matters into her own hands.
When the poacher’s dead body is discovered, Sonja is accused of murder and becomes the quarry of a
vicious local gangster. To save her own life she must leave the country and seek safety elsewhere.
Sonja leaves a trail of destruction in her wake as she flees from the vulnerable wilderness of Zimbabwe
to the dangerous beaches of northern Mozambique.
Meanwhile, old and new friends, and an increasingly distressed Emma, must find the means to rescue
her.
Is it possible, however, that Sonja IS the vicious killer? Or is southern Africa’s underworld behind an evil
conspiracy that will change their lives, and those of others, forever?
Wow! Tony Park has excelled himself with this nail-biting roller coaster ride of a read that veers madly out
of control from beginning to end. There are thrills and spills by the bucket-load all set against the
magnificence that is South Africa.
The nature of each of his characters is finely-honed and believable, as are the storylines, which makes
this novel even more chilling. The Pride is a fast-paced must-read for 2022!
