The Bad Bridesmaid by Rachael Johns – serial dater Winifred Darling, aka Fred, when asked to be the maid of honour at her mother’s sixth wedding, has resolved to stop at nothing to make sure the wedding does NOT take place! Her book called 21 Rules for Not Catching Feelings is about to be published, therefore, she feels she knows better than anyone of the dangers of treading the path that leads to love, and subsequent marriage!
Soon after arriving at the island wedding destination, Fred is thrilled to find that the groom’s extremely hot muso son, Leo, is just as dead set against the wedding as she is. They connive to put into action ‘Operation Break-Up’ in order to prevent their parents from making what they consider to be a truly catastrophic mistake!
As Fred and Leo get to know each other better, their lives are further complicated by unanticipated feelings for each other. Fred is, therefore, unexpectedly forced to reconsider her own inflexible rules regarding romance and family. Perhaps not every love affair has to proceed down the same path? Is there a chance that Fred may find her way through the maze that is love and relationship to become the star performer in a rom-com of her own?
If you enjoy intriguing plots, coupled with romance, weddings and tropical islands, you’ll love this latest novel by Rachael Johns. (It would also make a wonderful movie!) A lighthearted and feelgood must read!

About Rachael Johns
Rachael Johns was once, briefly, an English teacher, then her dreams of becoming a novelist came true. She now spends her days writing romance and women’s fiction in the Swan Valley, Western Australia. Her book The Patterson Girls won the ABIA Award in 2016 for General Fiction. She has also won the prestigious Romance Writers of Australia RUBY Award twice.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find Rachael reading, occasionally sewing, hanging out with her Sheepadoodle or listening to audio-books while driving or cleaning up after her three sons. Every year she says she’ll read more non-fiction but fails because there are too many good novels waiting to be devoured.
Rachael loves to hear from her readers and can be contacted on Facebook, Instagram and Substack. She also runs the Rachael Johns’ Online Book Club, which you can join on Facebook.
