Sugar Creek Smokehouse is an authentic ‘Aus-Tex’style of cooking. Be tempted by smoked mac and cheese, chilli brisket, skin on fries, spicy slaw. The signature filthy fries are layered with smoked meat trimmings, gravy and liquid cheddar.
If you’re a burger fan order one with delicious pulled pork, juicy beef brisket or sloppy joe. We enjoyed sharing the mega meat plate between two people packed with ample brisket, pulled pork, a half rack of ribs, korn bread, spicy slaw and fries.
Two re-purposed shipping containers, a shaded outdoor seating area (up to 65 people) and one super huge barbeque smoker. Check out the hero five-foot rotisserie smoker with up to 12 rotisserie racks and three grilling grates.
I’m keen to try the Need a Napkin next time. Brisket, smoked mac and cheese and house bbq on a fresh soft bun.
Sugar Creek Smokehouse was created by Zarraffa’s Coffee Founder, Kenton Campbell.
“It was my vision to create signature flavours; an authentic ‘Aus-Tex’ venue, using the highest quality meats sourced locally that are smoked fresh daily and to perfection for everyone’s enjoyment,” Kenton said.

Opening hours: 11am to 7pm, Thursdays through to Sundays.

About Sugar Creek Smokehouse
Hi, I’m Kenton Campbell, the Founder of Sugar Creek Smokehouse, Zarraffa’s Coffee and Kiwanda Café. I’ve always had a genuine passion for cooking, especially barbequing, as I love bringing good company together to share a meal in the outdoors.
Over the last couple of years, I started smoking meats purely as a hobby, later purchasing a small smoker to cook for my friends and family. After taking a trip to Texas to experience the home of smoked meats and barbequing, the idea for Sugar Creek Smokehouse was born. I’ve invested my heart and soul into creating food and beverage experiences that make people happy. Pairing this with my love for the smokehouse flavour, bringing an authentic smokehouse offering to the heart of Queensland’s south east seemed like the perfect choice. At its core, Sugar Creek Smokehouse is a fusion of my mantra and my passion for all things epicurean.
Ideally located for Brisbane, the Gold Coast and surrounding locals, Sugar Creek Smokehouse is a small taste of what’s to come with the larger Distillery Road Market project.
