Mr Gritster might be a hard to spell, but it’s easy to rub this Brisbane-based coffee and spice mix onto your red and white meat. These grit meat rubs will add a flavour punch to your next meal.
We added our special mix to an oven-roasted lamb and it was delicious served with a simple salad and corn cob. Surprisingly the coffee doesn’t dominate the dish but adds some texture with hints of cumin and smoky paprika.
Next time we are going to try the rub with a piece of slow-cooked meat over a barbeque. This is ideal for brisket and ribs lovers.
If you are lucky, you might be able to get your hands on a limited-edition batch of extra hot coffee rub, as requested by Mick Hobson from The Goat Pie Guy.
You can purchase Mr Gritster meat rubs in 100g and 250g bags at exclusive retail outlets around Australia or over at Mr Gritster’s online shop.
