Marley Spoon is an everything-but-the-cooking-done for you.
You receive all of the ingredients and seasonal recipes directly to your door.
You can browse through the recipes for the new week and select the ones you want to add to your weekly menu. Each dish has a key for kid-friendly, dairy-free, low in gluten, spicy, vegetarian and favourites.
If you click through to each dish you’ll find a handy description of the recipe, an illustrated photo, serving time, easy level, nutrition per serving and allergens. The step-by-step instructions can also be found here.
The box arrives packed with just the right amount of ingredients (pre-measured) so there’s zero food waste. There was a flyer about Marley Spoon and colour A4-sized recipe cards. You could easily hole-punch these and store your personal favourites in a folder.
We tried a box for two people for two dishes. It arrived in the afternoon with some environmentally friendly ice packs in a box.
The instructions are easy to follow and take 30 minutes or less to prepare so they are perfect for after work.
The fragrant Vietnamese rice soup was packed with flavour. There were just enough ingredients so there will be minimal leftovers. Delicious.

The next day, we tried the Jammin’ chicken shawarma pitas. It was a yummy meat marinated in Middle Eastern spices served with fresh salad and creamy garlic yoghurt.
Marley Spoon believes in great ingredients, meaning:
- Using fresh and seasonal produce
- Consciously sourced meat, poultry and fish
- Using local and artisanal products, like small-batch speciality producers Monte Fresco Cheese and Brasserie Bread
You may need to prep your pantry, but you’re likely to own all of the equipment, utensils and basics.
I love the fact the company supports local businesses. It’s perfect for people who are just starting to learn to cook or who want to try different dishes without ending up with too many bottles and jars leftover.
Highly recommended.
