Lomandra’s restaurant is located in the North Lakes Resort Golf Club and has great views out on to the green. It’s a lovely relaxing atmosphere if you sit outside and you might even spot a kangaroo.
The restaurant offers alfresco dining for breakfast and lunch. You don’t even need to be a member.
There were many tempting dishes like the meat deli board, King Island Cheese Platters, beef and Guinness pie, traditional chicken curry, eye fillet and a handful of different burgers.
I enjoyed my lemon pepper squid and a goats cheese and beetroot salad. My dining partner enjoyed his hot and spicy chicken wings with shoestring fries. The meals were all cooked fresh.
Breakfast has some yummy dishes like mushroom halloumi on sourdough, pancake of the day served with seasonal fruit and ice cream, corn fritters and then the classic eggs and bacon and eggs benny. The big breakfast will set you up for a good game of golf or whatever your plans and includes bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, potato rosti, beans, pork sausage, Turkish toast and freshly made tomato relish. The bunker is just as impressive with potato rosti, rocket, smoked salmon, avocado salsa, sour cream and poached eggs.
There is a dedicated kids menu with chicken breast or battered fish with chips and salad or a cheeseburger with chips. These meals include a soft drink, an ice cream and a kids activity pack.
There are options for vegetarians and gluten-free dishes.
Fun fact: Lomandra is a native Australian plant that is a grass-like plant belonging to the Black Boy family (Xanthorrhoeacea). Its flowers are yellow and perfumed.
