Heal by Pete Evens covers 101 simple ways to improve your health in a modern world. The book is easy to read with mini-essays of one to a couple of pages of advice.
It’s packed with beautiful illustrations and doable ideas making it ideal to give as a gift or a coffee table book. It covers topics like eating fermented foods, enjoying healthy fats, getting a dose of daily sunshine and yogi breathing.
Pete talks about eating seaweed, ketogenic diet and the benefits of eating hemp. The move section includes pages on activating your vagus nerve, walking barefoot, HIIT and functional movement. The play chapter is my favourite as it covers ways of adding fun activities into your life like juggling, dancing and singing.
The rest chapters talk about meditation, supporting your body clock, good sleep habits, and ways to breathe like a yogi, including the Wim Hof method.
The book is divided into seven major sections: nourish, move, play, rest, create, reflect and connect. There’s also an introduction, further reading (actually a list of therapeutic practices – some are a little woo-woo) and references section.
Heal will give you lots of ideas about finding long-term, sustainable health and wellbeing.
Heal by Pete Evans is available in paperback (flexibound) and ebook.
