Global Vegan by Ellie Bullen is her second cookbook, following the popular Elsa’s Wholesome Life. You are invited to travel around the globe with over 100 colourful and irresistible plant-based dishes.
The book begins with a short introduction, then talks about the benefits to your health and the planet with adopting a plant-based diet. There is a paragraph to explain each of Elsa’s favourite ingredients – some you might to need to find in a health food shop or Asian grocery shop.
The recipes are divided into chapters for brekkie, light meals, mains, sweets, drinks and basics. Each recipe has an introduction, ingredient list, serving size, instructions and gorgeous photography. (There’s no nutritional break down).
Be amazed by the vegan fried eggs (as featured in a viral video) and salt and pepper kalamari (made on konjac), or the fysh and chips (made on mushrooms). Be tempted by recipes for breakfast tacos, buffalo cauliflower wings, pulled jackfruit dumplings, jackfruit nachos, pineapple fried rice and baked mac no cheese. Imagine the smell of the chai-spiced cookies coming out of the oven.
The basic recipes are handy if are new to vegan cooking, with vanilla hemp and maca milk, homemade coconut yogurt, vegan mozzarella, vegan Nutella and more.
Global Vegan is packed with tempting plant-based recipes making it an ideal cookbook to add to your collection, whether you are a vegan or not.
