From big-budget action blockbusters to razor-sharp female-led comedy and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, the Russian Resurrection Film Festival proudly returns to Queensland with a smorgasbord of the very best new Russian cinema from November 5-13, and for the first time on the Gold Coast November 9 and 10.

Brisbane Opening Night with After Party

Join us on the 5th of November at Event Cinemas in the Myer Centre on Elizabeth Street for a fantastic evening of Russian Cinema. This year the festival will commence in Brisbane with a screening of Oleg Stepchenko’s Journey to China: The Mystery of The Dragon’s Seal (2019), followed by a Q&A session with the director. Our stellar opening night screening is followed by the biggest and wildest opening night after party. Dive head-first into a Russian extravaganza teeming with ice-cold vodka, traditional delicacies, dancing and raucous live entertainment.

Special Event – Sunday Russian High Tea Screening

At our special Sunday screening, you will have a chance to taste Russian delicacies followed by the screening of Valery Todorovsky’s Odessa. Held on 10 November 2019, 4:00pm.

About the Russian Resurrection Film Festival

The Russian Resurrection Film Festival is one of the largest, oldest and most respected Russian film festivals outside of Russia. The festival takes audiences on a thrilling journey into one of the world’s most diverse film cultures. From humble beginnings in 2004 screening in just three cities in Australia, the festival has grown dramatically in size and now screens in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland in New Zealand.
