Redlands Rockabilly Revival
Due to the weekend wet weather forecast, the event organiser for the fourth annual Redlands Rockabilly Revival has made the call to change this year’s event to Sunday, May 5. This decision is in the best interest of patron safety and comfort to ensure all the rock ‘n’ rollers can jive and swing in the best possible conditions.
The Redland Showgrounds will burst into colour when it holds the fourth annual Redlands Rockabilly Revival, playing host to thousands of hot rod and rock ‘n’ roll fans in what will be a retro extravaganza.
The one-day festival promises to offer a blast from the past with a dazzling display of vintage cars, rock ‘n’ roll music and dancing, retro markets, the Redland Museum, food trucks, kids rides and a stunning Pinup Pageant.
Supported by the Redland City Council, the family-friendly festival welcomes all ages – whether you’re a rock ‘n’ roll enthusiast or just there to people watch – this is an occasion not to be missed.
The festival is presented by Robot Productions, the creative events business behind the iconic GreazeFest, which is now in its 20th year.
Robot Productions Director, Lori Lee Cash, said the Redlands Rockabilly Revival will feature a sensational line-up of Australian roots musicians: The Linelockers, Suga Owens, B-Daddy & the Double D’s, Slim Gritty and DJ Leapin’ Lawrie, as well as specialist market stalls, cool food trucks and South East Queensland’s best display of hot rods and classic cars.
“The Rockabilly Revival brings together everyone from dyed in the wool rockabillies to local families intrigued by the colourful outfits and characters. The quality line up of music creates a sensational energy and watching the dancers jive and spin is awe-inspiring.”
“The music is just one of the many highlights of the event. The Pinup Pageant is always a crowd favourite – it’s wonderful to watch and support women of all backgrounds showing off their vintage and rockabilly outfits on stage.” Ms Cash said.
“The Revival is an amazing opportunity to let loose and have fun for the day. People from all generations can ‘drop in’ to the 1950’s for the day – just remember to bring your dancing shoes!” she said.
