Brisbane Arcade workroom treasures and stashes sale

Annual workroom sale promises some never-seen-before finds and goodies from designer workrooms and specialty boutiques

BRISBANE: Brisbane Arcade – Brisbane’s oldest and grandest shopping arcade and the headquarters of Queensland’s couture fashion since it opened in 1924 – will host its annual and much anticipated workroom sale from Thursday, 30th January to Sunday, 2nd February 2020.

European fabrics and fabric remnants, workroom samples, millinery, designer fashion, bridal accessories, jewellery, leather bags and gift lines, tea accessories and more will be on offer over the four days of market style shopping in the beautiful heritage Arcade.

Bargain hunters can reel in heavily discounted items from renowned names such as Belle Folie millinery, BethWyn Fabrics, Brisbane Hatters, Darb Couture, Helen Grant Boutique, Indepal, Issada Cosmetics, Keri Craig Emporium, Pia du Pradal, The Tea Centre, Tengdahl and Wendy Louise Designs.

Brisbane Arcade Marketing Manager Andra Bite says the annual workroom sale always creates a flurry of excitement as the Arcade’s designers delve into the epicentres of their work – their workrooms – and specialty boutiques clear out their sale or seconds stock to put on sale never before seen samples, seconds, one-offs and other special discounts.

“It’s a chance for many shoppers to come and snap up a treasure trove of goods from our stunning Brisbane Arcade retailers and is very different from the many commercial retail sales currently on,” Ms Bite said.

“There is nothing like the feeling of swindling a bargain and in many cases the items at our annual workroom sale – they are one-offs or truly from Brisbane Arcade workrooms where many of our retailers make and craft their designs and creations,” she said.

Some of the Brisbane Arcade 2020 workroom specials will include:

  • BethWyn Couture Fabrics – specialists in the finest European fabrics, BethWyn Couture Fabrics will be selling beautiful fabric remnants, scarves and fabric bags.
  • Darb Couture: arguably Australia’s maestro of bridal couture, Brad Webb, will be selling sample bridal gowns from his recent collections.
  • Keri Craig Emporium: European fashion labels such as Elisa Cavaletti, Tuzzi, Simons Vignoli, Clips, Isabel De Pedro, Amtica Santoria and Lorena Benetton at absolute bargain prices – some from as little as $50 and many below cost.
  • Indepal Leather: Indepal leather will have a giant range of seconds, samples and surplus stock on sale with savings of up to 70% including leather duffle bags starting at $77, ladies leather backpacks from $47 and other great deals from $10.
