Annisa B’s Dear Future Ex-Husbands
10 January - 11 January
Off the back of a sell-out show at Sydney Comedy Festival this year (2019), award-winning comedic actor, Annisa Belonogoff, will be debuting her show, Dear Future Ex-Husbands in Brisbane this January, as she embarks on a tour of Australia.
Based on real-life experiences, the NIDA graduate wrote and produced Dear Future Ex-Husbands, showcasing her creative and imaginative comedic mind. The show focuses on the female logic of everything, from family, friends, dating, society, coffee and bathroom antics – nothing is off-limits.
Annisa B will be heading to Brisbane on 10-11th January to take to the stage solo at the Ron Hurley Theatre, delivering a raft of skits and narratives, sure to have the audience in stitches.
The former personal trainer and bodybuilder turned comedic actor moved to Sydney two years ago and has been working the city’s stand-up scene, creating new skits and finessing her work. Recently Annisa B was voted People’s Choice at Short+Sweet Sydney for her show, Reality Check, with sell-out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival. Transforming Reality Check into a short film gained recognition from a number of industry bodies, with Annisa B becoming a finalist in L.A Connect Film Festival, a semi-finalist in Tropfest Short film festival and official selection for Sydney Indie Film Festival consecutive years.
Internationally, the film was the Official Selection of Eve Film Festival Canada.
Annisa B is nuts, crazy, some would say borderline insane with the number of things she does. Tired of trying to explain all her wacky, adventurous, outgoing, drama-queen like nature to potential dates, Annisa B has decided to sum up her out of the box personality and country girl/Russian background in a fun show format. She will be sharing her epic wins and her epic fails, and the fact that coffee has been her most stable boyfriend, and that she truly believes she was meant to be a drag queen in another life.
Opening the show will be comedian, Sam Menzies (The Downside Podcast). His stand-up will feature a raft of jokes and one-liners. Displaying his immaturity, Sam’s set will play on pressures of gender roles in today’s society.
Annisa B said: “Having lived in Brisbane for most of my life, I am thrilled to be coming back to perform Dear Future Ex-Husbands. The Australian comedy scene is really growing and Brisbane is producing some amazing talent. I can’t wait to show my work here, it’s a pleasure to be able to contribute to the Brisbane comedy scene.”
“Sydney has provided a great outlet for me to develop my material, performing around venues and theatres alike to showcase my comedy. Dear Future Ex-Husbands will bring Brisbane audiences and those from afar a reflection of the dramas people face in today’s digital, tinder-obsessed age. The melodrama is real.”
Tickets start from $20 on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th January with showings at 7:30pm, available for purchase here.
