Barbeque This by Luke Hines – Book Review

barbeque this

Barbeque This by Luke Hines contains over 80 recipes to bring your BBQ cooking to the next level

The barbeque basics section talks about choosing your BBQ (gas or charcoal), choosing your cooking method (flat plate, grill and convection), and using direct and indirect heat. Luke mentions some of the cooking tools that you might need.

There’s a handy guide on how long to cook a cut of meat, and then there is a list of all the different flavours (in case you want to mix your meat). This covers dressings, flavoured butters, marinades and flavoured oils, salsas, salads and sides, sauces and dips and spice rubs and seasonings.

The book is divided into chapters covering very good veg, sensational seafood, hooked on chook, perfect pork, lovely lamb, brilliant beef and stunning salads and sides.

Be tempted by recipes like bangin’ barbequed prawns on a stick, Turkish chicken kebabs with walnut sauce, smoky Texan wings, and sticky pineapple and pork skewers.

Serve these with charred cabbage and zesty herb oil and charred cauliflower and really good romesco sauce and more. Try the fantastic fritters (plant based) with smashed avocado for breakfast.

We enjoyed the teriyaki salmon skewers with Cajun corn on the cob and perfect Panzanella. I’m looking forward to trying the lemony lamb cutlets, really good short ribs with magnificent mango and macadamia salad.

Barbeque This is a handy book covering modern techniques and recipes that covers everything you’ll need for backyard barbequing.
