Yep, it’s a thing. Bacon jam is made to a secret recipe with real bacon, onion, coffee, golden syrup and some garlic, herbs and spices by the owner of the Salami Shack in Victoria.
At the moment, there are three versions of bacon jam – original, paprika and chilli. It tastes just like bacon. Hubby says it reminds him of pulled pork.
There’s a bacon salt too.
The good thing is there are no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours and safe for those on a gluten free and dairy free diet.
