Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery

If you are driving down from Brisbane, a great place to pop in on the way is the Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery. We decided to try both tasting paddles of rum – we were able to both have a sip of all them. I didn’t know that rum could vary so much – you’re sure to find one you’ll like, even if it’s one of the expensive ones! Located at 142 Distillery Rd, Eagleby QLD 4207.

Elk Cafe Broadbeach

Elk Espresso was recommended to me by the local on a Facebook group. It is located at the of the mall and is a popular spot with locals. It serves up a generous on-trend breakfast and independent coffee. You might like to go for a walk along the beach afterwards. Located at Shop G044, Level G, Oasis Shopping Centre, 2 Charles Ave, Broadbeach QLD 4218.

Blackboard Coffee

We devoured a big breakfast and fancy avocado on toast at Blackboard Coffee. The speciality coffee is roasted by Blackboard Coffee Roasters in Burleigh Heads. Highly recommended. Located at 7/240 Varsity Parade, Varsity Lakes QLD 4227.

Yamagen Japanese Restaurant

Yamagen is a Japanese restaurant located at the back of the QT Hotel, Gold Coast. We devoured an amazing range of share dishes, including waygu gyoza, deep-fried Brussel sprouts, crispy fried salmon salad and skewers of pork, beef and lamb. A romantic little spot where you can pretend to be in Tokyo. Located at 7 Staghorn Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217

Paradox Coffee Roasters

Paradox Coffee Roasters bowled us over with their breakfasts and speciality coffee. I enjoyed my beetroot falafel salad. Look out for the Nutella latte. Located at 10 Beach Road, Surfers Paradise, 4217 Queensland.

SkyPoint Observation Deck, Q1

Pretend to be a tourist for the morning, and head up the Q1 Skypoint for spectacular views of the Gold Coast and further. You’ll head up to floor 77 where there are information boards and a restaurant. Your ticket gives you 360-degree views from  230 meters high – to provide you with the perfect backdrop for your dinner or sweet treat. The SkyPoint Observation Deck is located in the Q1 Building in Surfers Paradise.

Please leave a comment to let us know where you like to eat on the Gold Coast?
