Hitman’s Bodyguard is an enjoyable action comedy film starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson with a flat storyline.
The film starts with a predictable introduction and we are introduced to Michael Bryce who was once a triple-A rated personal protection agent.
His ex-girlfriend asks him to protect Darius Kincaid and transport this notorious assassin from Manchester to The Hague. Darius needs to testify against the former dictator Vladislav Dukhovic in court to protect his love interest (Selma Hayek).
These two polar opposites are thrown together for an unbelievable cat and mouse chase for 24 hours. The action sequences include cars, boats, and motorcycles through the busy streets of Europe. Unfortunately, the comedy doesn’t always work and the dialogue is a little forced.
Tip: The Hitman’s Bodyguard screenplay was originally written as a drama.
High amounts of violence and swearing.
Hitman’s Bodyguard is a classic action story lacking a little punch. #hitmansbodyguard
