Bean Brewding run Brisbane’s only independent coffee tours. They visit cafés and roasteries to bring you ‘behind the scenes’ Brisbane coffee tours. Each tour usually consists of visiting three cafes and/or roasters in the same neighbourhood.
I’ve been on a number of Bean Brewding’s coffee tours and it’s a great way to learn about the process of making coffee. They usually cover the process of selecting the right beans, how they roast the beans to different styles of coffee. There are plenty of opportunities to taste the coffee.
You’ll learn about how coffee is sourced, from a cherry on the tree through to the hands of the barista who makes your daily brew. You’ll discover terminology and techniques used by industry experts to appreciate and enjoy subtle coffee flavours.
One of the stops usually has a morning tea break where you can order want you want and enjoy some homemade snacks.
Glenn Searle, the owner of Bean Brewding said:
We want to find out what makes the perfect coffee experience. Does the experience depend on the origin and roasting of the bean? The equipment used to brew? The Barista? The location and cafe environment? We want to promote the Brisbane coffee scene with its quality, quirky and ethical establishments.
Bean Brewding offer a range of different coffee tours from walking, to using Brisbane City Council buses and City Cats to cycling. They also offer custom designed events for your corporate or social group.
The coffee tour price is affordable and includes a bag of coffee beans to take home and all of the coffee tastings and experiences.
Tours are held regularly but sell out quickly, so check the Bean Brewding coffee tour website for the latest dates.
